Gibson's Barnyard Bbq

I’m not one to leave reviews, but this little restaurant needs a shout out. We found this place on a Google Map search for a restaurant near where we were traveling. Had high reviews, so we gave it a shot…despite being a few minutes off the highway in the opposite direction of where we were going. And I am SO glad we did! It is EXCELLENT! Being a Friday night, the place was pretty busy, and only had a few servers…but they were friendly, fast, and provided great service. Our party of 3 ordered the half rack of ribs dinner (with coleslaw & red potatoes), the beef brisket sandwich with a side of cheesy potatoes (side was á la carte), and pulled pork nachos with BBQ sauce. Everything we ordered was homemade (except the tortilla chips for the nachos and the sandwich bun), and boy, was it GOOD! We had enough to fill us up and still have plenty to take home. And that great pineapple BBQ sauce at the table? You can buy it by the bottle! To round out the meal, we decided to try the homemade Texas sheet cake and German Chocolate cake for dessert, and just…wow! It was so good, we had to get an extra piece of the sheet cake to go. All in (food, drinks, jar of BBQ sauce, and generous tip), was just under $100…and worth every penny. Two things to note before you go: they have limited hours, and it’s cash only. So check the schedule and check your wallet, and then RUN - don’t walk - to get an excellent meal. We’ll absolutely be back when we pass through.

Tried this place for the first time. Great food, fast service, and friendly staff. Will definitely tell others about this place. They are only open Thurs, Fri. and Sat. Ample parking and are available for catering. Cash payment only.

A hidden jem! This place has the best service and the food is super delicious . The homemade carrot cake was unbelievably delicious. Can't wait to try their Texas Sheet Cake.

First time customer last night. Great tenderloin and fantastic service in a nice atmosphere, will definitely be back.

If you love good prime rib that just melts in your mouth then this is it! I got the Prince cut and had to take some home to finish!! Cheesy potato’s, and the Beans were also delicious. Took a piece of cake home for later that night, however I never got to try any…my wife said it was amazing though!!!

Wow! Cow chips bbq - jalapeno ranch Prime rib with au jus and fries Prime rib split for two with au jus, red potatoes and cheesy potatoes Ribs with fries and mac and cheese + Summer sausage to go. We'll gladly make the 37 minute drive again without hesitation.
